Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Shinobi Trading Journal ("the Service", "we", "us") collects, why we collect it, and how it's handled. Shinobi Trading Journal is a personal trading journal - we built it to help traders track and review their own trades, not to monetize your data.

Information We Collect

Account information you provide when you sign up: full name, email address, phone number, country, location, and Instagram handle. If you sign up with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.

Trading journal data you enter: trade pairs, entry/stop-loss/take-profit prices, lot sizes, risk percentages, profit/loss, session, notes, emotional state, tags, and any chart screenshots you upload.

Usage preferences stored on your device only (not on our servers): theme (dark/light mode), drawdown and profit target settings.

How We Use Your Information

To create and secure your account, and let you sign in.
To store and display your trading journal back to you.
To verify your phone number and Instagram handle are in a valid, real format during signup.
We may receive an internal notification when a new account signs up, so we know the Service is being used - this is for our own operational awareness only, and is not shared with or sold to any third party.
We may analyze aggregated, de-identified trading data (for example, overall patterns across many users' trades) to study trading behavior and improve the Service. This analysis is never tied back to your name or account, and is not shared with or sold to outside parties.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your trade data for advertising.

Who We Share Data With

We use the following third-party service providers to run the Service. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:

Supabase - hosts our database, authentication, and file storage (including your uploaded screenshots).
Google - if you choose "Sign in with Google", Google handles that authentication.
Make.com - powers an internal automation that notifies us of new signups. It does not use your data for any other purpose.

If you click the "Support the Developer" button, you'll be taken to Ko-fi, a separate website with its own privacy policy - we don't receive or process any payment information from that.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is kept as long as your account is active. You can request account deletion at any time from Settings inside the app. Once a deletion request is processed, your profile, trades, notes, and screenshots are permanently removed.

Data Security

Your data is stored with Supabase, which encrypts data in transit and at rest, and access to your journal is protected by row-level security so only you can read or write your own trades.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can update most of your information directly in Settings, or request deletion as described above. For anything else, contact us using the details below.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
